Discovery and Wonder Abound in the Montessori Classroom
The Montessori philosophy is based upon learning experiences that encourage children’s motivation. The Westwood Montessori School believes children learn naturally in environments where discovery and wonder abound. We offer a three-year, early childhood education with highly trained teachers who honor the developmental needs of 2.9- to 6-year-old children.
The Unique Montessori Classroom
The essence of the Montessori method is the prepared environment or classroom. The beautiful setting of our Montessori classroom is designed with meticulous care and attention to address the needs of your ever-developing, preschool age child. Our Montessori materials and preschool curriculum enable self-directed, hands-on learning in the areas of practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language, science, geography and cultural arts. Children advance according to their own individual curiosity and independence in a non-competitive and caring environment.
The Montessori Difference
Studies show that consistency of care in early childhood education is a predictor of future school success. Attending a five-day Montessori preschool allows children to acclimate and adjust more smoothly, quickly, and happily than attending two or three day a week traditional nursery schools or preschools—with no separation anxiety.
